“GS1 Tunisia”: a key player in electronic trade
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- In recent years, Tunisia has undertaken to set up an environment based on trust and security in electronic trading through a regulatory framework and specialized agencies that ensure secure transactions such as the National Agency for Electronic Certification (ANCE) and the implementation of the best suited coding systems to international standards such as the Tunisian Coding Company “GS1 Tunisia”.
Launched in 1992, “GS1 Tunisia” (TUNICODE) is the only company authorized by the GS1 Global Standards, covering 90% of the world economy with more than 6,000 billion transactions per day.

Thanks to the management and allocation of the barcode, the company has enabled Tunisia to join the GS1 Global Language of business, based in Brussels.
In this context and to monitor the various actions undertaken by the company, including its latest professional B2B solutions, the Minister of Commerce and Handicrafts, Mr. Ridha Ben Mosbah, visited on Saturday, the headquarters of “GS1 Tunisia”, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade and the CEO of the Center for Promotion of Exports (CEPEX).
The team work of “GS1 Tunisia” linked to the development of this solution was supported by the minister, who stressed during his visit that “GS1 Tunisia” could be a key player in the development of electronic trade in Tunisia, in connection with the GS1 global network which gathers 108 member organizations.
According to Tunisia’s Official Press Agency, TAP, several new features were presented, including traceability solutions and mobile commerce as a tool for the information or promotion of products.
