16th edition of “France Aero -Rally” takes off from Tunisia
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- For the fourth successive time, Tunisia was chosen as a starting point of the 16th edition of “France Aero Rally”, a journey across nearly 12 Mediterranean cities in Tunisia, Libya, Greece and France from June 10 to 20, 2010.
The delegation of 50 French aviators onboard small 15 planes taking part in this event arrived last week at Sfax Tyna Airport.
“The availability of all conditions of security, the efforts exerted by officials to mobilize necessary material and logistic means and the large facilities, particularly at the level of air transport, tourism and security, were behind Tunisia’s choice for the fourth consecutive time”, said Mr. Jean Michel Collin, Secretary-General of the France Aero- Rally Association
Dubbed “Rally of Peace and Friendship in the Mediterranean”, participants took advantage of their stay in Tunisia to explore the country’s rich historical heritage, particularly in the Sahel region.
This event which contributes to boost Tunisian tourism sector also has a social dimension, thanks to a program especially concocted to familiarize disabled children to experience the joys of flying. The program entitled called “my island and my village as seen from the sky” included children from Tunis and Sousse.
