Splendid ceramic exhibit displays rich range of Tunisian artistic talent

Tunis , June 25, 2008 (TunisiaOnline)--The centre for art ceramic of Sidi Kacem Jelizi, located in the Tunis Medina, is hosting a splendid ceramic exhibit gathering the works of 75 artists and some 2500 creations. A real Ali Baba den of art objects of all forms and shapes, the exhibit remains faithful to the first artistic teachings of the Spanish renegade, Sidi Kacem Jelizi, who chose to make of his workshop and home, his mausoleum. Later, the mausoleum will be turned into an art centre, and will benefit from the influence of Islamic ceramic art.
