Tunisia wins Qatar International Handball Tournament
Tunis, November 2, 2008- Tunisia’s handball team won the Qatar International Handball Tournament, which was held from October 30 to November 2 in Doha, by beating on Saturday the French team of Ivry 35 -34, during the third and last day of the tournament.
It is Tunisia’s third consecutive win, after defeating respectively Qatar (27-23) and Algeria (28-25). Ivry clinches second place, Qatar finishes third and Algeria is fourth.
The tournament is part of a warm up competitiopn for both the Tunisian and Algerian teams who will play in the same group C, in the next World Championship, scheduled from January 16 to February 1, 2009 in Croatia.
