President Ben Ali confers with Prime Minister, attracting investments in ICT sector under focus
Tunis, November 10, 2008 - President Ben Ali conferred on Monday morning with the Prime Minister, Mr Mohamed Ghannouchi. During the meeting and within the framework of the address he delivered on the 21 st anniversary of the Change, the Head of State issued instructions to follow up on the implementation of the decisions he announced in his address, so as to attain the goals set, further boost the reform process, as well as winning the stakes of the hour.
On the other hand, President Ben Ali was briefed on the advancement and the implementation of the measures he had instructed for the upgrading of the sector of services, the improvement of its competitiveness and the reinforcement of its capacity to boost employment, notably for the diploma holders of the education and training system.
In this respect, the Head of State took cognizance of the programs set up to attract investments, especially in the sector of information and communication technologies , in light of the measures taken to increase the number of related spaces and reinforce the training of competences and skilled personnel in the sector.
He stressed the need for a better coordination between the different parties concerned, as well as valorising the incentives and plans set up to this effect.
The President of the Republic also entrusted the Prime Minister with chairing the launch of the festivities marking the 50 th anniversary of the creation of the Tunisian University.
