Carthage Eagles fly to Maputo for World Cup qualifier
TUNISIAONLINENEWS The Tunisian national football team has left Djerba on Wednesday morning heading for Maputo where it will play against Mozambique on November 14, 2009 at the combined World Cup and African Cup of Nations Group B last day qualifier.
The Carthage Eagles flew onboard a private jet from Djerba-Zarzis international airport for a 12-hour flight during which the plane will stop over in Nairobi for one hour.
Accompanied by Mr. Bechir Louzir, Secretary of State for Sports and Mr. Kamel Ben Amor, Chairman of the Tunisian Football Federation, the Tunisian national team were greeted on their departure by Minister of Youth, Sports and Physical Education Mr. Samir Laabidi and the Governor of Medenine.
Tunisia’s national team tops the group with 11 points ahead of Nigeria (9 pts), Mozambique (4 pts) and Kenya (3 pts).
The Carthage Eagles carried out final preparations and trainings on the island of Djerba in Tunisia’s south before the match against the Black Mambas.
Following a last training session on the island of Djerba in Tunisia’s south, Tunisia’s coach, Umberto Coelho, has announced the list of 24 players who will play against Mozambique.
The list of the 24 players retained for the qualifier against Mozambique are:
