Faouzi Benzarti new Tunisian coach for Carthage Eagles
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- In a communiqué released on Monday by the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF), it was announced that Mr Faouzi Benzarti has been chosen as the new coach for the Tunisian national football team in replacement of Umberto Coelho.
After meeting with members of Tunisian Football Federation on Saturday, Mr Faouzi Benzarti said that “this is a great responsibility and an honor for all Tunisian coaches to be in charge of the national team”.
Mr Benzarti will continue to coach “Espérance Sportive de Tunis” until the end of the season. “My decision to lead the national technical staff will not encroach on my commitment to coach “Espérance Sportive de Tunis, on the contrary, we will continue with the same rhythm, the same rage to win”, he said.
According the “Assabah”, a Tunisian Arabic daily newspaper, Mr. Benzarti also suggested names of potential members of the national team technical staff, in replacement of the former team.
Mr Benzarti started his career coaching US Monastir. He is one of the few coaches to have coached major Tunisian clubs including “Esperance Sportive de Tunis”, “Club Africain”, “Etoile du Sahel”, “CS. Sfaxien” and “Stade Tunisien” . He also coached the UAE national team, as well as Libya’s national team.
