Tunis, April 12, 2008 (TunisiaOnline)-- The Tunisian embassy in Seoul has taken part in the 2008 tourism fair dubbed “Tour Expo Daegu 2008” located in the city of Daegu, in southern Korea.
Tunisia 's participation is aimed at making better known its tourism potential to the Korean tour operators. In 2007, Korea boasted some 13 million tourists, few of whom know Tunisia .
The event which ran from April 3 to 6, 2008 enabled the 60,000 visitors to the fair to see and sample Tunisian products.
The fair which is considered as the third south Korean tourism event, gathered some 120 exhibitors, exposing over 250 booths.
In spite of the distance separating the two countries, Tunisian tourist authorities are hoping to promote the country's rich civilizational heritage, state of the art golf courses and luxury sea side resorts to Korean tourists, by offering package tours which include a detour through Italy or Greece .
Major exhibitors in the fair are tour operators, travel agents, international chain hotels and resorts, major airlines, tourist insurance companies, tourism related universities and media and international tourism associations.
