Economics Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz soon in Tunisia
TUNISIAONLINENEWS-According to the Tunisian businessnews website “Investir-en-tunisie.net”, the African Development Bank (AfDB) has recently announced that the Nobel Laureate in economics, Joseph Stiglitz will join AfDB’s Eminent Speakers Program in which he will give a presentation on “”Post Financial Crisis: Options for Africa” on January 11, in Tunis.

Professor Stiglitz will focus on reforms, privatization, capital market liberalization, nationalization and state intervention, stabilization, and governance as well as on finding the right balance between the market and government.
In 2001 Professor Joseph Stiglitz received the Nobel Prize in Economics for his analysis of “the theory of markets with asymmetric information”. He has made major contributions to macro-economics and monetary theory, development economics and trade theory, public and corporate finance, he theories of industrial organizations and rural organization and to the theories of welfare economics and income and welfare distribution.
He is also the former Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank. In the 1980, he helped revive interest in the economics of R&D
