Tunis to host 2nd Tunisian Economic Forum on November 14 and 15, 2008
Tunis, August 15, 2008- It was announced in Tunis on Friday that the 2nd Tunisian Economic Forum will be held on November 14 and 15, 2008 in Gammarth, North of Tunis.
This major event, which is organized by the Ministry of Development and International Cooperation in partnership with the Lebanese group, “El Iktissad wa El Amaal” and the Tunisian Union of industry, commerce, and handicrafts (UTICA), will provide opportunities to highlight the sound business and investment climate prevailing in Tunisia, as well as showcasing the success stories and honouring business personalities which have made a difference in boosting investments.
To note that Tunisia has benefited from a flow of investments estimated at 40 billion dollars, during the two last years.
The forum will also focus on the Tunisian financial market which has attracted several national groups and holdings such as “Poulina Holding”, “Adwya” and “Artes”, as well as foreign investors (investment funds and private investors from the Gulf and other Arab countries).
Moreover, the role played by Tunisia in the Union for the Mediterranean and the possibilities it offers to foreign investors to set up business contacts with major European industrial partners, will also be discussed during this forum.
It is expected that a large number of governmental representatives, representatives from the private sector, as well as a number of Arab investment groups will take part in this event.
In November 2007, the first Tunisian Economic Forum attracted some 700 personalities from the world of finance and the economy.
