King of Salsa, Yuri Buenaventura to perform in Tunisia

Over the years, the town has also carved a reputation for itself as one of Tunisia’s musical hot spots, featuring a world known Jazz Festival, a Rai festival as well as world music festivals which are also held each summer.

Lesser known, because still new but rapidly growing, the town’s Salsa Festival which will run in its second edition this summer is due to be held from June 24 to 26, 2010.The news was announced by Afrolatino.com.
Artists from Europe and Latin America will take part in the event which will feature such prestigious names as Maykel Fonts from Cuba, Osbanis Tejeda & Anneta respectively from Cuba and Poland, Super Mario and Leon Rose & Noémie from the United Kingdom, Tumba Y Tumbao from Spain, as well as Esteban Isnardi from Uruguay.
However, of the main attractions will undoubtedly be the performance that will be given by the King of Salsa, Yuri Buenaventura. The author of some 6 albums, including the luminous “Cita con la Luz”, released in 2009. Yuri Buenaventura was born in Columbia.
He has performed with some of the world’s leading performers including Elton John, La Mano Negra, Michel Legrand and the pianist Papo Lucca.
