A Tunisian-French Conference on “Prospective Arts and Cultures”, to be held soon in Hammamet

Tunis , May 7, 2008 (TunisiaOnline)--A Tunisian-French conference on “Prospective Arts and Cultures,” is due to be held on May 10-11, 2008 within the framework of the 15th national and international conferences on “Culture and development strategies in Tunisia ", at the charming Hammamet international cultural centre.

The news was announced on Tuesday, by Mr Mohamed Zinelabidine , the Director of the research laboratory on culture and the promotion of ICT's , during a press point held at the Higher Institute of Music in Tunis.

The event will be organised by the University of Tunis , its research laboratories specializing in culture and ICT promotion, the French Association of Musical Therapy ( University of Paris Descartes ) and the Association for Culture and Arts in the Mediterranean .

Some fifty participants from Tunisia and France will take part in this conference which will attempt to view art in relation with its environment and culture, as well as within the framework of cultural exchange.

The conference agenda will hinge around five central issues, including “Prospective arts and cultures in Tunisia: the new skills”, “New Arts and new cultures”, “The future of culture: the contribution of regions”, “Arts, culture and the environment”, and “The past and the future of music in Tunisia”; it will also include concerts, film screenings such as the documentary dubbed “The spring of the Tunisian musician ”, as well as a tribute to the famous French actor Philippe Avron, who will attend the event.
