14 year- old teen leads new wave of Tunisian table tennis players

Tunis, May 8, 2008 (TunisiaOnline) --The latest 2 nd International Open of Junior tennis table players which took place in Tunis, , has revealed a new wave of young talented table tennis players such as Adem Hmam, Thameur Mamia, Wejdane Ben Hassen et Sofiene Chaieb.

Among them, fourteen years old Adem Hmam is undoubtedly the rising star and hope of Tunisian ping pong. He is also currently seeded as 3 rd table tennis player on the African continent.

Indeed, his mobility vast technical repertoire and skills, speed, and the constant danger he poses to his opponents, has enabled him to progress at meteoric speed in the game.

It is largely thanks to Adem Hmam that Tunisia was able to reap 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals in the tournament.

The event which was organized at the El Menzah Sports Palace from April 29 to May 2, 2008, witnessed the participation of teams from Germany , France , Spain , Wales , Switzerland , Romania , the Czech Republic , Monaco , Egypt , Iraq , Algeria , Egypt , Romania , Slovakia , Jordan , Monaco , the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

In the words of the president of the Tunisian table tennis federation, Mr Larbi Guiga, Tunisia could have done much better in the event, which was dominated by Egypt. He also said that Tunisia was determined to “seriously prepare for the next Arab championships due to be held in Morocco , and Adem Hmam will be our leading player”, he added.
