Tunis WSIS: “e-skills capacity-building symposium” to be held on November 16, 2005 at El Kram”

An international symposium on the strengthening of “e-skills capacity-building”, will be held at El Kram on November 16, 2005.

The event which is organized by the e-skills certification consortium (e-SCC) and the European Union, will be attended by Mr Taieb Hadhri Minister of scientific research, technology and the development of competencies and Mrs Vivian Reding, the European Commissar in charge of the media and the information society. A number of distinguished speakers from all over the world will take part in the event.

The aim of the symposium is to stress the role of e-competences in bridging the digital divide. It will also focus on how industry with the support of governments and civil society can strengthen e-skills capacity building. Finally, it will try and show that by taking advantage of the different resources available, public - private partnership can make the information society a reality.
