Preparations for Arab cultural summit launched
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- During a press conference held on Tuesday at the International Press center in Tunis, official preparations for the Arab cultural summit adopted by the Sirte Arab Summit recently held in Libya , were announced.
Mr. Mohamed El Aziz Ben Achour, the Director General of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO), Mr. Souleiman Abd el Monaam, Secretary General of the “Arab thought” Foundation, as well as Mr. Mamdouh El Mawsili and Mr. Mohamed Dali, Arab league representatives took part in the event.
On the occasion, Mr. Mohamed El Aziz Ben Achour stressed the importance given to culture and intellectuals in Tunisia.
He also stressed that the event aims at developing ways to preserve the joint Arab heritage, maintaining the Arabic language, the setting up of an Arab cultural information mechanisms, establishing a new Arab cultural channel broadcast all over the Arab world.
Mr. Mohamed El Aziz Ben Achour also emphasized the necessity to focus on the Arab heritage and social welfare, as well as to develop mechanisms which facilitate movement of the Arab cultural productions such as books and films.
