Tunisia: experts plead for fairer global economic system
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- A roundtable was held on Tuesday at the Chamber of Deputies focusing on “The Davos World Economic Forum and the global economic system following the crisis”.
Participants to the roundtable noted that the crisis was instrumental in setting up a global economic system based on the awareness that economic development and the right to a decent life are immutable rights for all human beings.
Evoking the role of the Davos WEF, the speakers remarked that it represents an opportunity to exchange ideas, all the more so as the most powerful businessmen are likely to use the Forum to conquer new markets.

They also noted that that so far the Forum has only served the interest of businessmen and wealthy people, instead of promoting the world economic system.
The roundtable which brought together academics, economists and financial experts, also stressed Tunisia’s resilience in the face of the economic crisis, thanks to the timely intervention of the state. They also called for the setting up of a more equitable global economic system.
