Tunisia holds international conference on Future of Postal Stamps

The event is organized by the Tunisian Post, in association with the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and the World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP).
Representatives of the African Postal Union and senior officials of the Universal Postal Union and the World Association for Development of Philately took part in the event.
The event represents an opportunity to discuss ways to boost security in the making of postal stamps such as the fight against counterfeiting and illegal issuance of stamps as well as to promote innovation in this sector in order to guarantee sustainability of this activity in light of the international technological changes.
On the occasion, Mrs. Lamia Chefai Sghaier Secretary of State in charge of Information Technology, Internet and Free Software said that the area of stamp making Tunisia experienced a remarkable progress thanks to many reforms undertaken in the modernization of stamp production.
On his part, Mr. Jean Francois Logette, representative of the Universal Post Union, stressed the position held by the Tunisian Post within regional and international authorities and organizations as well as its gains in developing postal services in general and postal stamps in particular.
