Tunisia takes part in Arab League Council meeting
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- A delegation led by Mr. Kamel Morjane, Minister of Foreign Affairs, took part in the works of the 133rd session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, held on March 3, 2010, in Cairo.
The meeting reviewed the draft agenda of the forthcoming Arab Summit in Libya and the latest developments of the situation in the Middle East, as well as the Palestinian and the Arab-Israeli issues.

In his address, Mr. Kamel Morjane stressed President Ben Ali’s sustained commitment to boost Arab joint action as well as the privileged position granted by Tunisia to inter-Arab relations.
He also reviewed the unflagging support of the President of the Republic towards the just cause of the Palestinian people in compliance with the international resolutions and the Arab peace initiative.
During the meeting, the Arab League Council adopted a resolution praising the United Nations General Assembly’ s adoption on December 18, 2009 of President Ben Ali’s initiative to proclaim “2010 International Youth Year”.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the foreign minister conferred with his Egyptian counterpart Mr. Ahmed Abu al-Ghayt.
The debate focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and boost the ties of cooperation between both countries in different sectors and on preparations for forthcoming joint events.
Mr. Kamel Morjane also conferred with the Arab League Secretary-General Mr. Amr Moussa on items on the agenda of the session as well as issues related to the Arab world.
The foreign minister also held talks with his Maghribi counterparts and with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain and Syria.
