Tunisian film producer appointed Chairwoman of “Fonds Sud Cinema” in France
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- TheTunisian film producer, Dora Bouchoucha, was recently appointed by the French Minister of Culture and Communication, Mr. Frederic Mitterrand as the chairwoman of the commission of the “Fonds Sud Cinema”.
Since its launch in 1984, the “Fonds Sud Cinema” has promoted film diversity in the world; it has supported 400 films and spent an average 110, 000 Euros per year. 25% to 50% of this aid was dedicated to production expenditures in eligible countries, whereas the rest was devoted to post-production work carried out in France.
In her new position, Dora Bouchoucha succeeds the filmmaker Mahmat-Saleh Haroun; she is the second Tunisian personality to chair the committee after Moufida Tlatli.

A film producer, film but also a teacher at the Manouba Institute of Multimedia Arts, Dora Bouchoucha has produced and co-produced several documentaries, short and feature fiction films both in Tunisia and abroad, including “Sabria” which was selected at the “Venice Film Festival”, “The Season of Men” by Moufida Tlatli and “Baraket” by Jamila Sahrawi which was awarded a prize at the 20th Festival FESPACO Festival of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso.
Dora Bouchoucha graduated in English Literature and has been a film producer since 1994. She founded the “Project’s Workshop” of the Carthage Film Festival in 1992 and has been heading it since then. In 1997, she founded the “SUD ECRITURE” workshops dedicated to the development of training of film writers from Southern countries.
She has also been part of festival juries and has given several conferences on the cinema. In 2008, she was appointment as the president of the Carthage Film Festival.
