Tunisian film retraces career of young violin virtuoso
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- Hichem Ben Ammar, a Tunisian film director known for his “Captain of the Seas!” that was awarded the Best Documentary Prize for 2002, recently released a new documentary film dubbed “ Once upon Our Time”.
The film was screened on Wednesday in the presence of several journalists, film critics, directors and film lovers as well as the international film director Hubert Sauber, the director of “Darwin’s Nightmare”.

The 85 minute documentary produced by the production company 5 / 5, was filmed in several cities including Tunis, Paris, London and Brussels. The cast includes Hichem Ben Ammar, Hatem Nachi, Walid Mtar, Abdel Sabour Bilarbi Rabi Massoudi, Anne Clausat, Louise Bernal and Widdi Klomar .
The documentary which took two years to shoot, retraces the life of a young Tunisian violin virtuoso, Anas Romdhani (born in 1995), who studied at the Menuhin Institute in London and whose unusual talent earned him a distinguished scholarship from British authorities.
The film also features the contribution of famous composers who helped launch the virtuoso’s career such as David Ostrich, the well known music conductor.
In an interview with TUNISIAONLINENEWS, Hichem Ben Ammar said that he hoped that the film will meet with great success in Tunisia and eventually in many international festivals.
In the meantime, it will definitely be screened in the 2010 edition of the “doc a Tunis” film festival.
