UN International Year of Youth: Tunisia invited as guest of honor

TUNISIAONLINENEWS- Tunisia will be the guest of honor and the only country that will deliver the opening address at the opening ceremony of International Youth Year at UN headquarters on August 12, 2010,  announced  the Minister of Youth, Sport and Physical Education, Mr. Slim Laabidi at the preliminary meeting of Tunisia’s Youth Parliament.
The minister highlighted the interest that President Ben Ali gives to youth sector and its commitment to be responsive to young people and address their concerns and aspirations. He also stressed the importance of young people’s integration in social life.

The 2010 Year of Youth was endorsed by the UN General Assembly, on Tunisia’s initiative. Several activities, including conferences and sports venues are scheduled to take place all over the world to commemorate the event.
