Tunisian planelaod of humanitarian aid lands in Barkina Faso

A planeload of humanitarian aid dispatched by Tunisia to Burkina Faso landed, on Friday morning, in Ouagadougou, in accordance with the instructions of president Zine el Abidine Ben Ali to provide aid to this flood-stricken sisterly African country.

The plane, carrying tonnes of foodstuffs, medicines, blankets and tents, was met upon landing by Mrs Pascaline Tamini, minister of welfare and solidarity, Tunisia’s ambassador in Ouagadougou and several local high officials and media representatives. The minister voiced on the occasion the thanks and consideration of President Blaise Compaoré to the Head of State for this noble humanitarian gesture that reaffirms the deep-rooting of the value of solidarity in Tunisia’s policy.

She also stressed the excellent relations of co-operation and partnership between Tunisia and Burkina Faso, especially technical co-operation, voicing her country’s determination to draw inspiration from the Tunisian experience in several fields, including notably equipment, industry, energy, communication technologies, health and education.
