Compared with the same month of the previous year, Morocco’s consumer price index recorded an increase of 1.7% during April 2026, resulting from a rise in the food products index by 0.6% and in the non-food products index by 2.5%.
For non-food products, variations ranged from a 0.3% decline for “Communication” to an 8.4% rise for “Transport,” driven by higher fuel prices.
The underlying inflation indicator, which excludes volatile-priced products and items with public tariffs, would have risen by 0.1% in April 2026 compared with March 2026 and fallen by 0.3% compared with April 2025.
