As part of the price control of sacrificial sheep and red meats in the governorate of Sfax, joint monitoring campaigns have continued under the supervision of the regional governor.
These operations are conducted in coordination with security services, regional trade services, and the National Authority for Food Safety. They cover the sale spaces for sacrificial sheep, butcher shops, supermarkets, and all outlets selling red meats.
Protecting the purchasing power of citizens
This joint control program aims to better regulate the prices of sacrificial sheep and red meats, to protect the purchasing power of citizens, and to combat all forms of monopoly, speculation, and unlawful price increases on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
Visit to the municipal wholesale market
The Governor of Sfax, Mohamed Hajri, carried out, on Monday morning, a field visit to the municipal wholesale market to monitor supply conditions and verify compliance with the sanitary and economic provisions in force.
On this occasion, the governor stressed the need to intensify inspection and control operations on a daily and continuous basis until Eid al-Adha.
The objective is to address all overages related to prices or the storage and safety conditions of the displayed products, while ensuring the market’s regular supply and protecting consumer health.
