Tunisia will experience on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, generous sunshine but with highly marked temperature contrasts from one region to another.

Jendouba is expected to reach 38°C by late afternoon, while Bizerte will remain noticeably cooler with a maximum of 26°C.

Between clear skies dominating the south and persistent humidity along the coast, the day will offer very different weather environments depending on the governorates.

Greater Tunis

Residents of the Greater Tunis area will enjoy a largely clear sky throughout the day, with temperatures ranging from 21°C in the early morning to 34°C in the mid-afternoon in Tunis. Manouba will even reach 36°C, making it the hottest area of the extended capital. Humidity will remain high, around 88%, giving a heavy, muggy feel despite a near-absent wind at 1 km/h. Tunisians will experience a typical early-summer Mediterranean day, with a muggy atmosphere starting by mid-morning.

Sahel and Cap Bon

On the eastern coast, the Sahel and the Cap Bon will enjoy a perfectly clear sky, but with marked humidity reaching 88% in Sousse and Monastir. Temperatures will stay moderate: 27°C in Nabeul, 29°C in Monastir, and 32°C in Sousse and Mahdia. A light breeze of 3 km/h will blow from the southwest, bringing a bit of coolness by the sea. The air will stay humid all day, making the heat feel heavier than it actually is, especially in the Sahel’s hinterland.

Northwest

The northwest will experience the widest temperature swings in the country this Tuesday. Bizerte will top out at only 26°C with humidity at 100%, creating a cool, foggy morning atmosphere. In contrast, Jendouba will climb to 38°C under a completely clear sky, with 58% humidity and a light wind of 1 km/h. Béja will follow closely with 37°C, while Le Kef, Siliana and Zaghouan will range between 33°C and 35°C. UV indices will reach 9, requiring strong sun protection in the inland areas.

Center

The central region will live through a scorching day with highs between 33°C and 36°C. Kairouan will show 36°C with 83% humidity, making the heat particularly stifling. Sidi Bouzid will reach 35°C in drier air at 56%, while Kasserine will stay at 33°C. Wind will be almost non-existent, not exceeding 2 km/h, and UV indices will climb up to 9.6 in Kasserine, the highest in the country. The sky will remain clear or mostly clear throughout the day.

South

The vast southern Tunisia will experience intense but dry heat, typical of the Saharan climate in June. Tozeur, Kebili and Medenine will all show 36°C, with low humidity ranging from 41% to 47%. Winds will be somewhat stronger than elsewhere, reaching 6 km/h in Tozeur and 4 km/h in Gafsa. Sfax will stay cooler at 28°C thanks to maritime influence, but with humidity at 94%. Gabès and Tataouine will oscillate between 30°C and 35°C. Conditions will remain sunny everywhere, with skies either perfectly clear or partly cloudy over Sfax and Gafsa.

Three notable weather facts

  • Jendouba will record the national heat peak at 38°C, 12 degrees higher than Bizerte.
  • Humidity will reach 100% in Bizerte and exceed 88% across Greater Tunis and parts of the Sahel, making the air particularly heavy.
  • UV indices will exceed 9 in the center and south, with a peak at 9.6 in Kasserine, requiring enhanced sun protection.

Practical advice

In the face of this intense heat, drink water regularly throughout the day, especially in the northwest and center where temperatures exceed 35°C.

Wear a hat and sunscreen if you go out between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., particularly in Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid and in the south where UV is very high.

Along the coast and in Greater Tunis, opt for light, breathable clothing to better cope with the ambient humidity. Avoid strenuous physical activity during the hottest hours.
