Transfers by Egyptians working abroad registered record flows during the period from July to March of the 2025/2026 fiscal year, an indicator of a marked improvement in foreign currency inflows to the Egyptian economy.
These transfers rose by 32.0%, reaching about 34.9 billion dollars, compared with nearly 26.4 billion dollars during the same period of the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
This means that the value of remittances increased by approximately 8.5 billion dollars compared with the same period one year earlier, underscoring the importance of remittances from Egyptians abroad as one of the main sources of foreign currency.
Remittances from Egyptians working abroad are among Egypt’s main sources of foreign currency, alongside Suez Canal revenues, tourism, foreign investments and exports.
This rise comes as Egypt continues its efforts to strengthen its foreign currency resources and improve its financial and external balance indicators.
