The municipality of Raoued, in the Ariana Governorate, installed this Sunday a new decorative structure at the Sidi Omar crossroads, as part of a municipal project aimed at improving the aesthetics of the city’s entrances.
With an estimated total cost of 65,500 dinars, the project includes the layout of the crossroads and its surroundings, the creation of green spaces as well as the rehabilitation of the sidewalks.
The new structure presents itself in the form of a city entrance topped by an arch bearing, in gold letters, the inscription “City of Raoued.” It is also equipped with nighttime lighting.
A design inspired by the old Raoued beach structure
The Raoued delegate, Dhiaa El Hak Abidi, told the TAP agency that this new structure had been realized following a call for tenders and financed by the Raoued municipality.
He noted that its design draws inspiration from the old structure that once stood on Raoued Beach. This one, built in stone, had eventually deteriorated.
A second structure planned on the Jebel Jaafar side
As part of continuing the program to beautify the city’s entrances, the Raoued municipality also plans to install a second decorative structure at one of the entrances facing Jebel Jaafar.
Celle-ci portera l’inscription « Raoued vous souhaite la bienvenue » et le projet se trouve actuellement au stade de l’appel d’offres.
