News

WIFAK INTERNATIONAL BANK – According to the interim financial statements, as of June 30, 2026, the net profit for the first half ended at 2.2 MD versus 2.1 MD in the same period of the previous year, i.e., a slight increase of 1.6%.

The net banking income for the first half rose 19% to 59.6 MD compared to 50 MD in the first half of last year. In terms of margins and related income, a 19% rise in its client operations was recorded, aided by the 18% increase in the Ijara portfolio, the 8% growth in the Murabaha portfolio, and a 69% rise in Wakala Bel Istithmar operations.

The period, however, also saw a 40% increase in the cost of risk, to 11.2 MD. This rise is notably due to provisions for taxes and this additional impairment on receivables, the amount of which doubled compared with the first half of 2025.
