Tunis Stock Exchange: Tunindex Falls

Market Landscape

Contrary to the two previous sessions, the stock market closed the day on a negative note. The reference index registered on Thursday, September 3, 2026 a decline of 0.30% to 19,605.76 points, in a volume of 9.8 million dinars (MD). The Tunis Stock Exchange saw a block trade of 12,000 AMEN BANK shares at a unit price of 86 dinars (D), for a total amount of 1.03 MD.

Stock Performance

The BHL share posted the best performance of the session. It rose by 4.35% to 4.800 dinars (D), with a turnover of 14 dinars. While attracting capital of 84 thousand dinars over the session, the TRE stock logged a rise of 3.77% to 13.490 D.

The STB share was the market’s laggard on the TUNINDEX. Mobilizing a trading turnover of 117 thousand dinars, the stock fell by 6.00% to 6.110 D. The ATB value did not perform well on the day, declining by 4.51% to 3.60 D. The stock attracted capital flows of 37 thousand dinars during the day.

As in the previous day, AB was the most traded stock of the session. The stock advanced by 0.11% to 92.000 D, fueling the market with capital of about 3.6 MD.

News

BNA – The bank closed the first half of 2026 with a net result of 156.3 MD, up 14% from June 2025. It records a 4.3% rise in its net banking income on June 30, 2026, to 560.1 MD, supported by the clear increase in revenues from the investment portfolio.

By the end of the first six months of 2026, operating income rose 4.8% to 242 MD. The cost of risk saw only a modest increase of 1.4% to 100.3 MD compared with 101.7 MD in the first half of 2025. The corporate income tax expense was kept virtually at the same level, at 77.9 MD.

SOTETEL – By the end of the first half of 2026, the company posted a profit of 1.9 MD versus a loss of 0.3 MD in the first half of the previous year.

It saw its operating profit jump from 0.3 to 2.7 MD over the same period while sales generated 36 MD against 31 MD up to June 2025, a growth of 16.5%. Operating expenses rose at a slower pace, up 9% to 33.7 MD.
