Upon instructions from His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Kaïs Saïed, Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, presented the condolences of the Head of State to King Haakon VIII, King of Norway, to members of the Royal Family, to the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Espen Barth Eide, as well as to several members of the Norwegian Government, on the occasion of his participation in the state funeral of the late King Harald V, which was held today Wednesday the 9th of September 2026 in the Norwegian capital Oslo.
The Minister’s participation reflects the depth of the friendship and cooperation relations binding the Tunisian Republic to the Kingdom of Norway since the 1960s of the last century, as well as the concern of both parties to continue to strengthen and enrich them in various areas, notably in the sectors of renewable energies, manufacturing industries, advanced technologies, services and the blue economy.
The Norwegian partnership also stands as a privileged one within the Tunisian Business Forum with the Nordic European countries, which represents an important space for cooperation, partnership and the development of commercial and economic exchanges between the two sides, the Forum having held two meetings in Tunis with several economic operators from both sides.
