The Prime Minister announced that he would take legal action on Monday, September 7, following a leak of documents concerning a possible taxation of employee savings. Sébastien Lecornu assures that there has “never been any question of touching” this mechanism.
After yet another leak of documents regarding the country’s future budget, the Prime Minister took legal action on Monday, invoking a “breach of trust or violation of professional secrecy,” reports 20 Minutes.
The government positions itself in favor of a text that promotes employee savings
After the leak of documents in the press, Sébastien Lecornu quickly responded by stating, in several posts published on X, that the 2027 budget was still “in preparation.”
In the wake of this, Matignon confirmed that the idea of taxing employee savings was merely a “working document” and not a government decision.
And to ease the tensions created by this leak of internal documents, Sébastien Lecornu announced that, on the contrary, he wanted to allow employees to use their employee savings more freely.
The occupant of Matignon publicly announced the government’s support for a bill proposed by Senator Olivier Rietmann aimed at unlocking up to €5,000 of employee savings, with no tax or contributions.
