As the rains continue tonight and are expected to persist over the coming hours, the Ministry of the Interior has urged road users to exercise the utmost vigilance and to follow the following safety recommendations:
- Exercise caution and adhere to safety rules.
- Avoid crossing wadis and waterways, regardless of their level or flow.
- Do not attempt to cross roads and areas where water has accumulated.
- Do not approach wadis and low-lying areas during rainfall.
- Respect traffic rules, particularly by using the appropriate lights, including fog lights and hazard lights.
- Do not park vehicles in areas exposed to flowing water or runoff.
- Reduce speed, exercise extra caution behind the wheel and yield to pedestrians.
- Maintain safe distances.
- Remain calm and prudent while driving, while respecting the instructions of the officers.
- Give way to emergency and intervention vehicles and do not hinder their passage.
- Follow the statements and alerts issued by the competent authorities.
The Ministry of the Interior has also indicated that it has mobilized the necessary human and material resources in order to guide, inform and assist road users.
