A caravan dedicated to sexual and reproductive health was held in Skhira, in the Sfax Governorate. Organized by the regional delegation of the National Office of Family and Population (ONFP), in collaboration with the regional health directorate, it offered medical consultations, psychological support, and awareness-raising sessions.
A mobile clinic brought closer to residents
The caravan aimed to facilitate access to sexual and reproductive health services, particularly for populations in inland and rural areas.
A mobile clinic equipped with a portable ultrasound was mobilized to welcome beneficiaries and conduct examinations. The services also included mental health services, counseling, and guidance.
This proximity-based approach combines care and prevention in order to promote equitable access to health services.
A mobilization of health and civil society actors
The initiative is part of strengthening the partnership between ONFP, the Association of Human Rights Journalists, the National Union of Tunisian Women, and the Tunisian Association of Midwives.
The mobilization of the Office’s teams and their partners aims to support prevention and to improve knowledge in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
Awareness-raising at the heart of the approach
Beyond consultations, the caravan offered information and awareness-raising sessions intended for different audiences, with particular attention paid to women.
The topics covered included sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, and health education after birth.
The initiative also allocated space to media coverage and diversification of communication channels, with the aim of reaching a wider audience and facilitating access to health information in rural areas.
