The Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) and Chad’s National Agency for Investments and Exports are considering signing a memorandum of understanding aimed at framing their cooperation and boosting trade between the two countries, CEPEX announced in a press release published this Monday, October 5, 2026.

According to the Center, the anticipated agreement could enable several joint initiatives: trade promotion, exchange of market information, organization of bilateral business meetings (B2B), identification of business opportunities and support for Tunisian and Chadian companies in accessing the markets of both countries.

A Meeting at the House of the Exporter

This announcement follows a meeting held at the end of last week, at the headquarters of the House of the Exporter, between the CEPEX chief executive officer Mourad Ben Hassine and the representative of the Chad agency, Fatima Hussein Hamida. She was visiting Tunisia to participate in the International Halal Forum, held on September 29 and 30.

The discussion focused on ways to consolidate cooperation between the two institutions and strengthen exchanges between economic operators of the two countries, notably through the sharing of economic and commercial information and expertise in terms of supporting companies and promoting exports. Joint initiatives aimed at boosting bilateral exchanges were also examined.

The two parties also reviewed the preparations for the fourth edition of the Tunisian-African Business Meetings (TABM), scheduled for December 9-10, 2026 in Tunis. This event presents itself as a platform for connecting Tunisian companies with their counterparts in Sub-Saharan African markets, through bilateral meetings and professional networking activities.

In this context, Mourad Ben Hassine invited the Chad side to actively participate in this upcoming edition, notably by mobilizing Chad’s economic operators to explore partnership possibilities and to forge business relations with the participating Tunisian companies.
