The government proposes, within the framework of the 2027 draft finance law, to raise the tax on travel abroad from 60 to 80 dinars.

According to the document from which the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) obtained a copy, this measure falls within the second axis of the project, devoted to strengthening the social role of the State, and more precisely in the provisions aimed at increasing the resources of the Fund for Diversification of Social Security Financing.

In the same context, Article 24 provides for a revision of the consumption duty applicable to beer, wines, and alcoholic beverages (corresponding respectively to tariff headings 22.03, 22.04 and 22.08). The new rates would be set, respectively, at 0.03 dinar per centiliter, 3 dinars per liter, and 100% or 10 dinars per unit.

The additional revenues generated by these measures would be allocated to the Fund for Diversification of Social Security Financing.

Furthermore, the project also intends to raise from 40% to 60% the rate of the tax on games and contests, provided for in Article 17 of Law No. 2024-48 establishing the Finance Law for the year 2025, as amended by the Finance Law for 2026.

These provisions are, at this stage, included in the 2027 Finance Bill and remain subject to the legislative adoption process.
