The National Agency for Energy Efficiency (ANME) announced the approval of 26 new subsidy applications of 10,000 dinars each, intended to contribute to the procurement of electric taxis. It confirmed, on this occasion, the mobilization of a funding envelope of 500,000 dinars to finance this program.
The Agency clarified that it will continue to receive applications from taxi drivers wishing to benefit from this aid, in accordance with the conditions and procedures in force. It has also begun disbursing subsidies to beneficiaries selected who have acquired their electric vehicles and met all the required conditions.
In September 2026, ANME had already announced the acceptance of 23 files submitted by individual taxi drivers seeking to benefit from a subsidy of 10,000 dinars for the purchase of an electric vehicle.
This program is part of a pilot initiative launched by the Agency on August 20, 2026, for the benefit of 47 individual taxi drivers. It aims to encourage the adoption of electric mobility in the transport sector, to support the energy transition and to reduce carbon emissions.
By adding the 23 accepted filings announced in September and the 26 new requests, the total number of accepted applications reaches 49, according to the figures in the two statements. This total exceeds by two the initial number of beneficiaries targeted by the program, set at 47 individual taxi drivers.
