The Interprofessional Grouping of Dates announced that an agreement had been reached to keep unchanged the reference prices for dates accepted by exporters at the collection stage during the 2026-2027 campaign, compared to the previous season (2025-2026). This decision follows a meeting held on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

The agreement was concluded between the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP) and the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), represented by the National Syndicate Chamber of exporters of vegetables, fruits and dates.

Reference prices according to the date categories

In accordance with this agreement, the reference prices for three categories of Deglet Nour dates have been maintained according to their classification, quality and size:

– 5,200 dinars per kilogram: for Deglet Nour dates in the upper category (EXTRA), presenting good calibres, provided that the beth rate (البث) does not exceed 10% and that the infestation rate by the date worm remains less than or equal to 5%.

– 4,500 dinars per kilogram: for Deglet Nour dates in the first category, of medium calibre, provided that the beth rate does not exceed 10% and that the infestation rate by the date worm does not exceed 5%.

– 3,100 dinars per kilogram: for Deglet Nour dates detached from the first category (Standard), provided that the infestation rate by the date worm does not exceed 5%.

Compliance with export quality standards

The agreement also emphasizes the need to guarantee the conformity of the dates concerned with the quality standards required for export.

Operators will thus be required to comply with the specific criteria set for each category, notably with regard to quality, calibre and the infestation rate by the date worm.
