The president of the Tunisian Organization for Consumer Information, Lotfi Riahi, announced on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 the imminent launch of a new smart application named “OTIC Tunisia – My Cradle” (Koffti), developed with the help of artificial intelligence. This initiative comes after the organization established a call center aimed at improving citizens’ support.
Follow prices and master the family budget
Downloadable on a smartphone, the application will feature several sections. The first, titled “My Cradle”, will offer updated prices for fresh products and other groceries. It will also allow users to estimate the real cost of a meal or a dish based on the number of family members, thus providing a practical tool to better manage daily expenses.
A platform to report infractions
A second section will be dedicated to complaints. Consumers will be able to report infractions there and track their processing by the relevant inspection services, notably the Ministry of Trade and the National Authority for Sanitary Safety.
According to Lotfi Riahi, complaints can be transmitted in the form of voice messages or written messages, then automatically converted to text before being sent to the competent authorities, thereby facilitating faster and more efficient handling.
Support for control mechanisms
The official underscored that this solution will strengthen the intervention of control bodies by enabling them to quickly identify the nature of the infractions and their location. He also indicated that new educational and awareness-raising sections will be added later to better inform consumers about their rights and the applicable legal framework.
Available from the start of Ramadan
The OTIC Tunisia – My Cradle (Koffti) app will be available for download in the first week of the Ramadan month. A promotional campaign is planned to present its features and encourage its adoption by the general public.
Lotfi Riahi finally stressed the central role of artificial intelligence in the operation of the application, from the submission of reports to their automatic transmission to the control bodies, as well as in processing requests and the responses provided to users.
