The President of the African Development Bank Group, Sidi Ould Tah, is about to lead a high-level delegation to Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital, to participate in the work of the 39th session of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
According to a Bank statement, at the Summit scheduled for February 14–15, 2026, Ould Tah will set forth the institution’s strategic vision, built on “the four essential points.” This approach emphasizes reducing Africa’s financing gap, strengthening financial sovereignty, unlocking the continent’s demographic dividend, and building resilient infrastructure through the local transformation of natural resources.
In this framework, the “new African financial engineering” is presented as a structural ambition of this vision, aiming to mobilize large-scale financial resources to meet growing development needs and overcome the financial constraints that hinder the continent’s socio-economic progress.
The Bank’s president will, moreover, deliver an address to the heads of state and government on the second day of the Summit, during which he will present a clear roadmap aimed at aligning the Bank’s four priorities with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
Bilateral meetings with African leaders and international partners are also planned, in order to strengthen strategic partnerships and coordinate joint efforts.
The Bank Group is also expected to participate in several high-level discussions aimed at proposing solutions to the continent’s most urgent development challenges.
