The Tunisian team “Discovery 2” had clinched a world crown last June in Spain, bis repetita in August 2026 but this time in the temple of technology, China. The Jasmine country swept first place in the robotics programming category at the Open World Robotics Championship. The country of jasmine collected 45 gold, silver and bronze medals, according to a press release from the Tunisian Association for the Future of Science and Technology (ATAST).
Fourteen young talents from the national team, led by ATAST, took part in the competition with 14 robots and seven projects. A podium finish is guaranteed in a plethora of disciplines. The association highlighted this brilliant trajectory for Tunisian robotics, adding that the total number of medals won by Tunisian teams across all competitions stands at 695.
Organized in China, the Open World Robotics Championship sits among the elite of international competitions dedicated to autonomous robots. The event has been held annually since 2004 and brings together teams from around the world. With this triumph, Tunisia’s reputation is established, ahead of the global elite. It is to be hoped that our country will manage to keep these little geniuses whom the whole world is vying for.
