The combined revenue from labor income and tourism receipts exceeded 13.2 billion dinars in the first nine months of 2026, recording a 4.7% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, according to monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

Labor income rose by 5%, from 6.5 billion dinars at the end of September 2025 to around 6.9 billion dinars at the end of September 2026.

Tourism receipts, for their part, reached 6.3 billion dinars in the first nine months of the year, against 6.1 billion dinars during the same period in 2025.

These two sources of revenue together represent 142% of the external debt service, which stood at nearly 9.3 billion dinars.

On the other hand, net foreign currency holdings recorded a slight decrease of 2.4%, from 24.2 billion dinars, or the equivalent of 104 days of imports as of October 2, 2025, to 23.6 billion dinars, corresponding to 92 days of imports as of October 2, 2026.

Statistics from the Central Bank also show an increase in the volume of fiduciary currency in circulation — banknotes and coins —, which surpassed 29.6 billion dinars as of October 1, 2026, representing a 16% rise compared with the same period in 2025.
