Chokri Kraini Takes the Helm at La Cigale Tabarka: The Journey of a Hands-On Leader

Written by: Adel Khelifi on June 6, 2026

There are careers that are built in offices, and others that are forged on the ground, in contact with teams and clients. Chokri Kraini’s belong decisively to the second category.

Today he stands at the head of one of the crown jewels of Tunisian hospitality: he has just been named General Manager of La Cigale Tabarka, the prestigious five-star complex perched on the northwest coast of the country.

For those who follow the sector, this appointment is no accident. It crowns a patient career path, punctuated by establishments where he learned his trade in every detail.

From rigorous training to a passion for the profession

Before the guest rooms, receptions, and conference spaces, there were the benches of school. Chokri Kraini trained at the Institute des Hautes Études Commerciales de Carthage (IHEC), where he earned a DESS in tourism and hotel management, after a master’s degree in accounting management. A dual culture — that of numbers and that of hospitality — which would become his signature.

Eager never to stop learning, he complemented this foundation with the international CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) certification, issued by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. A guarantee of seriousness in a profession where excellence is non-negotiable.

A career built over time

The terrain, Chokri Kraini knows it in every dimension. He cut his teeth in major establishments in the Sousse region, notably at Iberostar Sahara Beach, then at Sahara Beach Aquapark Resort, one of the country’s largest complexes. He then passed through the German brand Steigenberger, before joining the international Barceló Hotel Group.

In recent years he has continued his ascent on the Mahdia side, where he held leadership responsibilities, before today opening the Tabarka chapter.

At every stage, the same method: proximity to the teams, attention to detail, and the constant focus on the guest experience.

Un nouveau défi à Tabarka

Taking the reins of La Cigale Tabarka is no small mission. The establishment, with its spa, its golf course, and its exceptional setting between sea and forest, stands as a reference in the Tunisian hospitality landscape and ranks among the showcases of national tourism on the international stage.

That speaks to the scale of the challenge awaiting the new General Manager, at a moment when Tunisian tourism is betting more than ever on upgrading its offering, diversifying its clientele, and expanding the reach of its flagship destinations.

Une nomination qui en dit long

Beyond a name on an organization chart, the arrival of Chokri Kraini at La Cigale Tabarka illustrates an encouraging reality: Tunisian hospitality that knows how to grow its talents internally and entrust its finest establishments to professionals trained on home soil. A positive signal at a time when the country seeks to elevate its tourist offering.

The rest now remains to write the continuation on the ground. And if one judges by the man’s trajectory, the establishment is in hands that know the hotel business inside out.
