Connecting to Public Networks: Tunis Governor Urges Standardization of Municipal Procedures

A working session was held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the headquarters of the Tunis Governorate, dedicated to examining the conditions for issuing exceptional authorizations for connection to public networks. The meeting was presided over by the Governor of Tunis, Imed Boukhris.

Difficulties in implementation examined

According to a communiqué from the Tunis Governorate published on its official Facebook page, the session allowed addressing the difficulties related to the implementation of the baseline procedures adopted in this area. These obstacles were discussed and analyzed in order to identify practical solutions ensuring more effective application.

Harmonization of procedures among municipalities

The governor Imed Boukhris stressed the necessity of unifying the procedures applied across all municipalities within the territorial jurisdiction of the Tunis Governorate, and of complying with the regulations in force.

Reference to the Interior Ministry letter of January 29, 2026

The meeting also emphasized the application of the provisions of the Interior Ministry’s letter dated January 29, 2026, relating to the simplification of procedures for obtaining exceptional authorizations for connection to public networks.

Wide administrative and municipal participation

The session took place in the presence of the governorate’s first delegate, the general secretaries responsible for managing the affairs of the municipalities under the Tunis governorate, the head of the municipal affairs service at the governorate, as well as the file handler at the governorate and representatives of the concerned municipalities.
