Health Minister Presides Over Ceremony Honoring Pilgrimage Health Mission
Friday, July 10, 2026 — The Minister of Health, Dr. Mustapha Ferjani, chaired a ceremony in honor of the members of the pilgrimage health mission, following a meeting devoted to evaluating the 1447 Hegira/2026 season and drawing the main lessons for upcoming editions.
The minister praised the competence, dedication, and team spirit demonstrated by the members of the mission, stressing that the success of the season was the result of coordination among the various stakeholders. He also called for continued development of the health care system for pilgrims.
The mission comprised 31 medical teams, as well as specialist doctors, tasked with ensuring the health coverage of 10,982 Tunisian pilgrims. It provided more than 35,000 medical consultations, including 1,000 during the day of Arafat alone.
The ceremony concluded with a tribute to the members of the mission in recognition of their efforts, at the end of a season also marked by the Office of Tunisian Pilgrim Affairs awarding the bronze prize “Labbaytum,” which rewards the quality of organization and the services provided.
