The governing committee of Étoile Sportive du Sahel published a statement following the Tunisian national team’s match played on Thursday, September 25, 2026, in which it reaffirmed its full support for the national team, regardless of the sporting result.
The committee expressed its concern about the phenomenon of slogans and practices of a regionalist nature, as well as certain manifestations of rivalry between clubs during matches of the national team. It stressed that the national team belongs to all Tunisians and that its interest must prevail over all sports and regional affiliations.
The Etoile du Sahel also renewed its call to distribute the national team’s matches among the different Tunisian stadiums, deeming that decentralization of fixtures would be likely to strengthen among supporters the sense of belonging and equality between the regions, while acknowledging the difficulties related to sports infrastructure.
The Etoile du Sahel concluded its statement by reaffirming its support for the national team, for its players as well as for its technical and administrative staff, stressing that the Tunisian flag must be the color that unites all supporters.
