Leading in the field of military security, the German group Rheinmetall formalized on Wednesday the acquisition of a majority stake in the Croatian company DOK-ING, which specializes in robotic mine-clearing systems.

While the purchase price was not disclosed, the two companies plan the development of a variety of solutions for combat operations and combat support, including a project for an unmanned armed support system intended to be used with main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles for reconnaissance and fire-support missions.

The press release for the deal adds: “These systems will also be deployed alongside Rheinmetall’s existing products, such as the Panther KF51 main battle tank, the Büffel/Buffalo recovery tank, and the Kodiak armored engineer vehicle.”

Since December 2025, Rheinmetall, based in Düsseldorf, has announced that it will divest from its entire civilian portfolio to focus exclusively on the military sector.

DOK-ING, in which Rheinmetall acquired a 51% stake, has, for its part, established part of its production in Ukraine in 2024.
