In the governorate of Kasserine, 558 pilgrimage candidates are concerned by the preparatory medical examination for the 1448 AH Hajj season in 2027. It will be carried out this year with the help of a new system for monitoring the health status of the candidates, said on Tuesday the regional director of Religious Affairs, Mohamed Rached Messaoudi.
This device relies on a new application from the health sector, which allows monitoring the pilgrims’ health status and classifying them according to their situation, particularly those who suffer from chronic diseases or conditions likely to prevent them from performing the rites. It fits into a global system allowing the medical commission to determine the suitability of each candidate, the official said.
The candidates from Kasserine will undergo the medical examination in Kairouan, at the health school located near the Okba Ibn Nafaa Mosque, together with those from the other governorates of the third region: Sousse, Monastir, Kairouan, Mahdia and Siliana. This center is one of the five chosen this season, by region, for pilgrims from the entire country.
Medical examinations from October 24 to 28
The examinations will take place from October 24 to 28, according to a calendar established by the regional Directorate of Religious Affairs in coordination with the health services of Kasserine and Kairouan, with each delegation group summoned on the same date. October 24 is reserved for the Sbiba, Thala, Jedelienne, El Ayoun and Haïdra delegations, and October 26 for those from Kasserine South, Ezzouhour, Hassi El Ferid, Foussana and Majel Bel Abbès. Sbeïtla will follow on October 27, then Kasserine North on October 28.
The list of people concerned by the medical visit, published on September 21, was finalized after the census of candidates whose right to perform the pilgrimage was established. The Kasserine candidates have already undergone the requested analyses, as well as a chest X-ray and an electrocardiogram, in order to present their file to the commission.
The official recalled that a study day was held on September 21 at the Kairouan Health Center, under the supervision of the head of the Hajj health mission, Dr. Mohamed Soussi, with the participation of doctors and the regional health services of the six governorates of the region, to coordinate the health aspects of the season.
