International Cooperation: Ministers’ Council Discusses Tailored Solutions to Accelerate Public Projects

The presidency of the government announced that a meeting of the ministerial council, chaired by the head of government, Mrs. Sarra Zafrani El-Zenzeri, was held this Wednesday morning, March 18, 2026, at the Government Palace in the Kasbah. This meeting was devoted to examining the progress of public programs and projects within the framework of bilateral, multilateral cooperation, as well as Arab and Islamic cooperation.

The head of government noted at the outset that accelerating the realization of public projects constitutes a national strategic priority. She stressed the need for continuous on-the-ground monitoring, adherence to execution deadlines, as well as the high quality of projects, while seeking immediate solutions to overcome technical and administrative problems, and simplifying procedures. She also highlighted the importance of completing all public projects within the deadlines set to guarantee regional development, economic growth and social justice, thereby contributing to promoting investment and creating employment opportunities, in line with the state’s policy and the directives of the President of the Republic Kais Saied.

She also stressed the importance of fully leveraging the available tools and mechanisms of international cooperation, in line with national priorities. She reaffirmed the state’s commitment to implementing all programs and public projects, so that they become real levers to support development efforts, creating thus a growth dynamic capable of generating wealth and opening new employment opportunities, meeting the expectations of citizens.

The Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdel Hafidh, presented a detailed briefing on the programs and public projects carried out within the framework of bilateral, multilateral and Arab-Islamic cooperation, as well as on the ongoing and planned projects, covering mainly the sectors of agriculture, education, higher education and scientific research, industry, renewable energy, infrastructure and technology development, health, tourism, youth and sports, environment, transport, digitization and culture.

During this meeting, appropriate solutions were discussed to accelerate the realization of public projects and the necessary measures to overcome the problems encountered by some of them. The council recommended the establishment of a unified strategic framework to monitor projects carried out within the framework of bilateral, multilateral and Arab-Islamic cooperation, with performance indicators and the creation of a digital platform and a dashboard to track the progress of these projects, as well as the adoption of simplified procedural guides taking into account the specifics of these projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the head of government reaffirmed that all ministries and public structures, at the central, regional and local levels, are at the service of the citizen and must eliminate all obstacles and overcome all difficulties that hinder the advancement of any project.
