The university department of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery at Badr Eddine Aloui University Hospital in Kasserine is organizing nocturnal medical consultations starting this evening and continuing through Saturday, March 14, with sessions every day from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The head of the university department of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery at Badr Eddine Aloui University Hospital in Kasserine, Imed Aouni, stated in a declaration to a journalist from Tunis Afrique Presse that these consultations are intended to accommodate patients with urgent cases or dental pain, as well as people wishing to undergo examinations, obtain medical consultations, or have their oral health checked, especially those who cannot attend in the morning.

He added that these services will not be limited to the Kasserine University Hospital but will also involve several primary health care centers (first-line dispensaries), notably the Karma and Essalem dispensaries in the Kasserine North delegation, as well as the one in the Ezzouhour neighborhood in the Ezzouhour delegation. The initiative will also cover local hospitals in the delegations of Sbeïtla, Sbiba, Foussana and Thala, with the aim of broadening the benefits of this health action.

The same source indicated that this initiative falls within the framework of a program launched by the Ministry of Health to bring health services closer to citizens during the holy month of Ramadan and to facilitate access, all the more so as the demand for dental care typically decreases during this month, due to concerns among some patients about the impact of anesthesia or therapeutic interventions on fasting.

The head of the university department of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery emphasized that organizing nocturnal consultations is designed to alleviating patients’ suffering and to allow them to receive care or be examined at a suitable hour, thereby helping to prevent the deterioration of certain health conditions that could worsen if treatment is postponed.

He also clarified that the outpatient services of the dentistry and maxillofacial department at Badr Eddine Aloui University Hospital are supported by a full medical and paramedical team, ensuring the provision of all necessary care and consultations for citizens under the best possible conditions.
