The Bougrara Elementary School, in the Médenine-Sud delegation, today hosted a multidisciplinary medical caravan under the slogan “Together to Save Lives,” initiated by the regional office of the Tunisian Organization for Education and Family in Médenine and the regional coordination “Mosaic of Development and Culture,” in partnership with the regional health directorate, the university hospital, and the Bougrara Local Hospital.
This caravan is part of the effort to bring health services closer to citizens, especially in the area of specialized medicine. It provided consultations in ophthalmology, dental medicine, gynecology-obstetrics and pediatrics, in addition to screenings for hypertension and diabetes, as well as the organization of awareness workshops on hygiene, nutrition, and the health of mother and child.
This initiative enabled the provision of a variety of free medical services, both curative, diagnostic and educational, for the benefit of more than 300 beneficiaries, according to Moncef Mbarek, president of the regional office of the Tunisian Organization for Education and Family in Médenine.
The same source stressed that this type of caravan constitutes essential support for the health sector and an important appointment awaited by citizens, especially in inland regions, to benefit from the expertise of volunteer physicians, thus helping to bring health services closer and to ease the difficulties related to travel and the length of waiting times.
